Wightman Chapel at Scarritt Bennett Center

and other Popular Venues for Nashville Weddings

A lovely alternative for those wishing an off-church site,
Wightman is a beautiful stone chapel near the Vanderbilt and Belmont University campuses.
Designed & built in 1928 in the Gothic style, it's an intimate setting with great acoustics featuring a pipe organ, grand piano, and reception facilities. The Scarritt Bennett campus is ideal for photography.

Imagine starting at the rear of the long nave. With every eye fixed on you...
...and the majestic pipe organ playing, you march up the aisle toward your awaiting groom...

...until you arrive at the altar!

"It was the happiest day of mine and Tim's life. We thought you both did a beautiful job! Everyone loved the music and I am so happy we had both the organ and the bagpipes play. Thank you for all of your help and decisions on such lovely song selections."
— Dana Reid,
married April 22, 2006 in Wightman Chapel

I am on the list of authorized organists approved to play the tracker organ at Wightman. More about Wightman Chapel on the Scarritt Bennett site. For a closer look at the organ, see Ken Stein's site.

For a small wedding, try Holy Cross Anglican Church in Franklin, which accomodates about 100 guests.

HCA

This is my home church where I serve as organist. Modest reception facilities (fellowship hall and kitchen) are also available.
Benton Chapel
I also play at Benton Chapel, the Inter-denominational chapel at Vanderbilt University. See Benton Chapel for complete information.
And of course I will be happy to play at your church, as I did for Melissa at St. Edward's Catholic Church.

Opryland Hotel
In the same neighborhood is the beautiful Opryland Hotel, whose

atrium (at right) and gazebo (The Delta Pavilion, shown above) are open for weddings.

Hotels frequently host wedding events, especially receptions, and have a staff person dedicated to this area. One of the most popular is the Hermitage Hotel in downtown Nashville. Many hotels have fine pianos, but if no instrument is available, I am happy to bring my own keyboard equipment.

Just around the corner from my house in Brentwood, on Franklin Road, there's a cute little historic building called Owen Chapel. It's an old Church of Christ, and is an ideal setting for small weddings. Their site at http://www.owenchapel.org/ gives all the contact info. Click on the photo for a detailed look at the interior.
